DAY 1 –
ARRIVAL TO PORTO
Arrival to
Porto airport and transfer to your hotel. Overnight.
DAY 2 -
HALF DAY PORTO
Sightseeing
of the city, starting by a visit to the Cathedral. Continue of the visit
passing by the Stock Exchange Palace and St. Francis Church. Finally we arrive
to Ribeira, the oldest quarter of Porto. Carry on to Vila Nova de Gaia to visit
one of the famous Port Wine Cellars located in the historic part of the town,
including a tasting of this famous nectar. Return to your hotel.

DAY 3 –
FULL DAY DOURO VALLEY
Due to its
unique landscape, Douro Valley was classified as world heritage by UNESCO and
it was the first wine-producing region in the world to have been attributed an
official demarcation (1756). This wine region follows the course of the river
Douro, from the border with Spain to about 90 Km upriver from Porto. We can
admire the vineyards accommodated in terraced slopes all the way down to the
river. Our first stop will be in the charming town of Amarante situated on
banks of the Tamega River, where we suggest a visit to S. Gonçalo Monastery.
Carry on to Peso da Régua, where is produced the famous Port Wine. Continuation
to Lamego, a town known by its typical food and in particularly by the sparkly
wines. We suggest a visit and wine tasting to a Port wine estate, followed by
lunch. After we continue towards Pinhão, the current capital of the Port Wine,
where we can visit the famous Train Station and admire the hand-painted tiles.
Return to Porto.
DAY 4 –
FULL DAY MINHO
Departure
to Braga, capital of the Province of Minho. We start the visit precisely going
to the top of a 1.315 metre high hill where stands the Church and Sanctuary of
Bom Jesus. Once in the historical centre of Braga, we suggest a visit to its
Cathedral. Proceed to Ponte de Lima, considered to be the purest locality of
Minho region. Drive to Viana do Castelo, which is called the "Princess of
the Lima River". It stands on the bank of the river Lima, near its mouth
Viana is still nowadays a very active fishing harbour. The tour starts up at
Santa Luzia hill where we have a superb general view of the town and its
harbour. Return to Porto.
DAY 5 –
DEPARTURE
At a
previously settled time, departure transfer.
